Job Seekers Beware Of Job Adverts

There has been a job vacancy advertisement running on major job blogs in Kenya. The 'company' advertises a wide range of vacant positions and once you apply, a purported Human Resource manager sends back the reply below;


" RE: INTERVIEW INVITATION.

We acknowledge receipt of your job application. This refers to our advertisement in the local media.
In that regard, we are pleased to inform you that you have been short listed as one of the best suited for
the position. We therefore invite you to attend the interview with us.
Our salary scale ranges between USD. 220 (Kshs. 20,900) and USD 1,300 (Ksh 123,500) depending
on the position and qualifications of the applicant. In addition to the salary, there shall also be medical,
house, overtime and travelling allowances.
Candidates for this position will be required to undergo a medical test at their own expense.
Medical tests will be done at the designated company clinics. (Please note, we do not test HIV)

Medical examinations cost will be Ksh 2,700 for all tests.
You will be required to deposit a refundable medical test fee at the company's bank account
given below before 4th October 2011 and email the bank transaction number to
calperskenya@gmail.com
NOTE; Carry the original bank deposit slip with you on the day of the interview.

- Suspicions arise from the inconsistent location of its Head Office from some replied letters stating that they are located some where in Westlands then Industrial area...
- Again, I wonder why one should pay any fee before interview selection...why can't they deduct from successful interviewees' prospective salary.  
- Alledged Calpers Kenya Ltd has no website.
- Finally if the purported Human Resource Director exists (Mrs. Mary Atkinson), she should shed some light on this issue lest we believe 'she's' a con.
