The Fourth Edition of To Hells Gate on a Wheelbarrooooooooow
is here! Held at the Hell's Gate National Park, Naivasha, this year’s event is
set to kick off from Friday June
15, 2012 at 2pm to Sunday June 17, 2012. This most grueling wheelbarrow race-cum-fundraiser
in the world this year will also feature a live music show, with The Villagers Band and Sauti Sol performing and your usual
dose of a bush party and a camping spree.
According to KWS, “Proceeds from the event will go towards
the construction of a fully equipped Conservation Education Centre in Hell’s
Gate National Park. The facility, once operational, will play a key role in the
mobilization of and sensitization of over one million inhabitants of local
communities in Naivasha on the importance of protecting and conserving wildlife
species, as well as educating them on alternative wildlife enterprise for their
economic benefit.”
Last year’s event raised Ksh.5 million.
