KWS urges investors to venture into game parks

Private investors have been asked to venture into parks and game reserves to attract more visitors.

Kenya Wildlife Service senior warden Tom Amisi said business opportunities abound within the parks, and willing investors are only required to forward their proposals for them to be considered.

“If people can invest in setting up accommodation facilities such as tented lodges and camping tents, it will have a direct positive impact on the parks since it will raise visitor traffic,” Mr Amisi said.

Most parks in the Western Tourism Circuit are currently relying heavily on domestic tourists, but foreign tourism is set to increase with the completion of Kisumu International Airport.

Some of the unexploited opportunities in the region include sport fishing, boat racing and floating bars, which can also be leased out for special events such as weddings. READ MORE      http://www.nation.co.ke/
