This 22nd September marks the Third Annual World
Rhino Day, with events planned all over the globe! The day
celebrates all five species of rhino and works to eliminate demand for rhino
horn by highlighting efforts to debunk the medicinal myths about rhino horn as
well as create awareness on the need to protect rhinos and
celebrate efforts of all men and women who put their lives in line for the
Rhino.

SIRIMON BANDAS
In one of those tantalizing visits to Mt.Kenya
National Park via Sirimon Gate you’ll come across an attractive stone built-bandas.
The Banda is located at Sirimon Gate and comprise
two semi-detached units housed in one attractive banda. Each unit has two
bedrooms, one with double bed, and one with two single beds. The units have hot
watered shower rooms each. They have furnished sitting rooms with log fireplace
and doors leading to a small veranda. Each has an open-plan dining area leading
off the sitting room and a gallery kitchen with a gas stove, kitchen utensils,
cutlery, crockery and glasses. Visitors are provided with a caretaker, kerosene
lamps, blankets, pillows, bed linen, towels, soap and toilet tissue.
The bandas are reached by road from Nanyuki town via
16km north A2, Sirimon Gate is
signposted to your right and After 9km you will see the bandas on your right
before the Park gates. By air, is via Nanyuki Airstrip.
