The 2013 World Travel Awards Grand Finale took place at La Cigale Hotel in Doha Qatar Saturday 30th November. The Awards, are acknowledged across the globe and are aimed at recognizing companies, organisations and brands that go far beyond the normal to enhance in their products and services.

Kenya emerged among the best globally by being voted as the 'World's Leading Safari Destination.' This comes after Kenya dominated at the 20th World Travel Awards gala dinner ceremony that was hosted by Kenya Tourism Board at Safari Park mid October. More than ten awards in various categories in that gala went to Kenyan based industry players.
The WTA 2013 awards ceremony in Doha was graced by industry elites with H.E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad al-Than, the Chairperson, Qatar Museum Authority and Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulaziz al-Thani as guests of honor. The event's host was Ece Vahapoglu (Turkish Broadcaster) with exclusive performances by Maya Diab, dance group Enana and Micah an electric violinist.
